Comments about Nikon Nikon 18mm - 55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Wide Angle Autofocus Zoom Lens - Grey Market:

I learned to love this lens on the D40's that I teach on. I bought this one to use on my D200 and D7000 as a lightweight walk-around for vacation and family outings. It's so much lighter than the 18-200, same speed, and if I need more reach I just walk closer, yet I still have the wide end if I want that effect. It focuses almost 1:1 for close up as well. If you're not working a specific project and you don't know what you're going to run into, AND you want to carry only the camera with one lens, this is a sharp little monster that won't fatigue you, and still swings pretty wide!

It's a starter lens, but works great with what it's designed for. Small, light, and good value for the price.

Even though this lens comes standard on most Nikon cameras, mine didn't (bought my Nikon D70s used with a 55-200mm lens). I knew going into the purchase I would need the Nikon 18-55.[...]Great piece of equipment! I will definitely shop here again.

The same Nikon lens that came with the camera fell apart on a family outing ruining all my picture taking so I replaced it with the same lens. Hope this one is better

Comments about Nikon Nikon 18mm - 55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Wide Angle Autofocus Zoom Lens - Grey Market:

I take many pictures of my newborn son and have also used this camera at a number of sporting events. I dropped my camera from about 5' and broke my lens, which is what caused me to replace it with this one. As long as you take care of this lens, you will be impressed.
