A truly outstanding lens. I immediately took it to Lake Coeur d' Alene, ID for the annual Amer bald eagle presence of the salmon runs. The weather was very cold, windy and within two trips I had photography which will sell!
I do a great deal of aviation, military and bird life photography around the country and I have desired this type of a lens for a very long time. While a heavy item, the rapid response and quality results makes it a winner.
If you are a back country photographer using an ATV or a pack animal, take this lens with you! I look forward to future adventures with this outstanding technological. It's smooth, rapid focus and VR II technology is second to none.
Way to go Nikon!

This lens has exceeded all expectations. I mostly use it for grandkids in sports and wildlife shots. It produces marvelous images, has very good to excellent bokeh. One can handhold this lens for short periods with excellent results. Simply a lot of fun!
