After trying a number of Sigma lenses that had front focusing issues on my Nikon D300, I decided to give this lens a try. Despite the fairly heavy price premium associated with this lens, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Wide open, the lens delivers sharp images with razor thin depth of field and good contrast that helps images really "pop". Stopped down to f/2, the lens is sharper than just about any other lens I use. Focus is reliable and quick, CA & flare are well controlled, and handling is quite good. The lens hood doesn't feel as sturdy as past models of this lens, but works well and is easy to reverse on the body for storage. Bottom line: I had very high expectations for this lens, and it has met them!
