This is one of the few zooms that I respect. I shot directly into the sun, and there's pretty much no flare to speak of. Impressive with a multiple-element lens.
The constant aperture is a plus.
Distortion is practically non-existent. I'm SHOCKED! I shot some architectural interiors, and really didn't need to do much of anything in the Photoshop Lens Correction filter. Unheard of!
A wide zoom with qualities that rival a prime!! Who'd have thunk it?
