Comments about Pentax Pentax SMCP-DA 14mm f/2.8 ED IF Digital Auto Focus Lens for SLR Cameras - U.S.A.:

Lens shows little distortion for a prime lens. Some vignetting on picture corners but with lens filter removed and a shallower hood, vignetting completely disappeared. This lens is sharp at all aperatures and can be stopped down to achieve 16 x 20 prints without sacrificing picture detail. Clarity in background and foreground images is great. A great prime lens that you should carry in your bag when you are out on an outdoor photo shoot.

Comments about Pentax Pentax SMCP-DA 14mm f/2.8 ED IF Digital Auto Focus Lens for SLR Cameras - U.S.A.:

This lens is a useful tool to supplement a standard wide-angle zoom. Unlike the zoom 12-24 DA lens, this prime has little purple fringing. It is also closer focusing and one stop faster. I use the lens for interiors, landscapes and wide-angle closeups. I wish it was smaller but given its 2.8 aperture, this is a good compromise.
Looking back through my photos, the shots from this lens shine.
