Comments about Pentax Pentax D-FA 50 f/2.8 Macro Auto Focus Lens:

I've only had the lens a couple of months. So far, I've used the lens for Christmas portraits, some low light shots, and landscape shots. It is fast and easy to use. My only gripe is the AF hunt if I forget to engage the clamp.

Comments about Pentax Pentax D-FA 50 f/2.8 Macro Auto Focus Lens:

I just want to tell you about the focus ring of this lens first. The ring continues rotating even it reaches to the minimum or maximum focusing points with little bit stronger force. I had a very strange feeling with that working because my other Pentax lenses are not working like that. Those focus rings stop at the minimum and maximum focusing points. But, do not worry, it does not mean working improperly. I asked Pentax Japan if it defects. They said "No" it is normal function. Anyway this lens is working very well and bright. Maybe you should be careful to be out of focusing because it is very narrow when it has wide-open aperture. I think this lens is good lens but little bit difficult to me. I sometime thought I had to buy 100mm Macro or a 200mm or 300mm telephoto if I had enough money. Therefore I would not recommend you this strong except you have a special purpose.
