Comments about Sigma Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Auto Focus Lens for Nikon AF Cameras:

Looking for a sharp lens @ f/1.4?
Don't look any further, @ f/1.4 the Sigma THE 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM is THE sharpest 50mm AF lens available for Nikon.
It is bigger and heavier than Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G AF-S, but wide open it is much sharper and the bokeh looks much better too.

If you're into manual lens, you might want to try a Zeiss Ikon, but I kind of prefer the bokeh of this Sigma lens... it is PURE CREAMY BOKEH!

Perfect for night scenes and portraits (for DX or FX bodies)!

I'm looking forward to try their new 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM now...

Comments about Sigma Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Auto Focus Lens for Nikon AF Cameras:

I just love this lens. I use it mainly for taking shots of my grand kids in low light and as a travel lens. It is sharp, even at f1.4 and is a good focal length for singling out people at a gathering.

Focus is fast and accurate.

The bokeh is just great and this has become my favorite lens.

If there is one con it is that it's quite a bit larger and heavier and more expensive than its Nikon competition but after doing extensive research I decided on this Sigma because I love the way it renders the images.

I have used it extensively on my D700 and love the shots. The bokeh is awesome and the lens is razor sharp. I have been meaning to try it on my D200 as a portrait lens and compare the bokeh to the 85mm 1.4.

Comments about Sigma Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Auto Focus Lens for Nikon AF Cameras:

I like this lens. Lights are distributed evenly from corner to corner of my photographs. There is no light fall off or any vignetting. I left the “cons” items unchecked because I really could not find any. The closest thing that could be a "con" is the size of the lens. But, hey, it has a lens filter size of 77mm in diameter. It is supposed to be big. However, it is my lightest lens with a 77mm filter size, and I several lenses of the same filter size. I would recommend this lens to any photographer who does available light photography.
