This lens is incredibly light and compact. It's attractively finished and the hyper-sonic motor is very quiet. It focuses quickly. However it lacks a macro and with a close focus of around four feet it doesn't focus close enough. For most of it's range it's at an aperture of 4.5 or above so it is a bit slow too.
