Comments about Tamron Tamron SP 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD-IF Autofocus Zoom Lens for the Maxxum & Sony Alpha Mount.:

Bought the lens to use on my Canon 1DS but it wasn,t completely compatible. Switched to using on my 40D and Wow! This lens is a freak! Stacks up to my 2 L series lenses and surpasses them both on saturation of color. Very sharp even at corners but, stop it down to between 4 and 16 f-stops and it will erase all doubt. This is the best lens, dollar for dollar out there, especially if you're using an aps-c body. Buy it and I'm sure you will use it more than any other lens in your bag. To heck with snob appeal. Save your money and forego the L lens you were thinking about, such as 24-70L and so forth. Makes me feel the fool for putting out the dough. Keep in mind however that my comments do not translate to any or all Tamron lenses. Wasn't a big fan. But, THIS ONE? Like I said earlier, it's a total freak and I'm sure a very happy accident for Tamron.

Comments about Tamron Tamron SP 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD-IF Autofocus Zoom Lens for the Maxxum & Sony Alpha Mount.:

Bought after reading tests against L series 24-70 2.8 and I haven't been misled. Best color saturation I've seen. Razor sharp at all apertures. No light fall-off. Have read some have problems with forward focussing but not my copy. I'm sure Tamron will make it right if yours doesn't measure up in that category. But once you get a good one, I'm certain you will keep it on your camera almost full time. It's that good. I'm in awe each time I see the results.

The biggest problem was image shift left to right during focus. The Adorama tech and I both agreed that somehting must have been wrong with my copy. I am afraid I returned the lens and am saving up for the Sony. Happy Adorama was willing to work with me.

Comments about Tamron Tamron SP 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD-IF Autofocus Zoom Lens for the Maxxum & Sony Alpha Mount.:

I really wanted the CZ 24-70 F2.8, but could not afford it, so got this lens instead. Was not expecting too much, but have been totally blown away with the sharpness and clarity of the lens. Colour and bokeh are excellent, plus it does not weigh a ton to cart around. Excellent partner with my Sony Alpha A900. I really have no complaints; this one's a definited keeper!
