Comments about Voigtlander Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 Aspherical Standard Leica Screw Mount Lens - Silver:
Recently I bought a Canon P rangefinder 35mm film camera, made in 1961. It's has a black leather and chrome finish. It's a Leica copy and uses the Leica M39 screw or threaded mount lenses. Rather than try to buy an old Canon or other manufactuer's lens to go with the camera, I decided to buy a new Voigtlander lens. An older lens can come with problems like scratches, cloudiness, frozen parts, and fungus. This Voigtlander lens helped to complete the camera and the silver finish makes it look as nice as the camera. The lens is as clear as can be and takes great pictures. The aperture ring has that click into place style, which is nice. The lens cap fits snuggly and comes off quietly because of the cap's lining, so people on the street don't hear me getting ready to photograph them. The lens focus is smooth as well. I have a few Canon EOS lenses from the L (red ring) line, but I'm impressed at how nice of a lens one can get for just a few hundred dollars from Voigtlander for rangefinder cameras.
