I use the op tech hood hats on all my lenses. Why, because they work. I have lost a jillion lense covers but the hood hats are easier to find, dependable and they prevent knocks to the front of my lenses. If you feel like I do about those little round lense covers toss them and get a hood hat. Try it there oh so much better.

After damaging several UV filters I was told about the lens hat and how it cushion the everyday type of banging around objects. After a few months of use I can say that it is quite effective and handy too as it fits in my pocket without jabbing me. I presently own 5 of them in varying sizes.
