Comments about Adorama Adorama 52mm Rubber Lens Hood:

Bought this hood to go with a new (used) lense that I purchased from Adorama. Does the job for a great price, and the hood folds (compresses) to fit in the lense case I bought to go with it.

Although the hood is a little difficult to thread onto my lens, it works well and allows me to use my original Nikon lens cap.

Comments about Adorama Adorama 52mm Rubber Lens Hood:

This hood is fine for use of a lens without filters. When you put filters on, however, the hood is not long enough. I'll get lens flare surprisingly easily because the hood does not provide enough shade. I don't know if the Nikon hood is any longer, but there has to be a better hood for 52mm threads. Also, the rubber gives me the impression that it will someday crack if you fold and unfold the hood too many times.

Comments about Adorama Adorama 52mm Rubber Lens Hood:

I like this hood a lot more than the plastic ones on my other lenses. It's good for keeping idle hands and other bumps to the front of the lens, and a little more portable. Also, it doesn't fall off like the plastic bayonet hoods can. I use it on a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens. I had a similar hood on a much wider lens and it seemed to have some blocking out in the corners, but it worked for me on 35mm and 50mm lenses just fine.

Comments about Adorama Adorama 52mm Rubber Lens Hood:

I use with my 50mm, 35 mm, and 24 mm lenses. The flexible hood allows me to easily adjust and eliminate blocking on the shorter lenses. Also does a good job adding protection for lenses against hard knocks.

Comments about Adorama Adorama 52mm Rubber Lens Hood:

Own both 52mm and 62mm to cover three different lenses. Have replaced metal hoods. These cost 1/3 as much. But big advantage is not cost, it is space. Each saves 1-2 inches over fixed hoods that are not reversable. Can be left on lens and folded back...I've picked up enough room in my Domke bag to pack two additional small lenses just from using these in place of the metal hoods.

Terrific accessory.

Comments about Adorama Adorama 52mm Rubber Lens Hood:

Works exactly as described. Lightweight and adds a small amount of protection against small bumps to the front of your lens. It won't protect it from a fall to the floor, but it shields the sun well and folds to a very small size.
