I bought this to use with the Sony/Minolta lenses. I had another lens hood but lost it while photographing a baby shower. The lens hood that came with the Sony lens actually fit over the outside of the lens barrel and used a coarse thread to quickly come on and off. The Adorama lens uses the internal fine threads that would typically be used for filters. Unfortunately, the plastic threads on the Adorama lens hood quickly strip out because there isn't enough plastic in the threading itself. This hood now sits in my bag.
