Comments about Canon Canon Lens Hood ET-67 for 100/2.8 USM Macro:

Great tool for controlling flare. A must-have especially when photographing outdoors in bright daylight. Design, especially the textured inside (feels like felt), is more thoughtful and useful than third-party hoods. The fit is very snug, and it is very user-friendly.

Comments about Canon Canon Lens Hood ET-67 for 100/2.8 USM Macro:

I live in Florida and have to deal with the bright sunshine on many shoots, so a quality hood is critical. I tried cheap knock-offs, only to have the quality of my photos reflect it. Just bite the cost and go for the best. You'll use it for years.

Comments about Canon Canon Lens Hood ET-67 for 100/2.8 USM Macro:

A properly installed lens hood assures maximum picture quality. Designing a camera lens is an extremely precision job and the correct hood is the manufacturer's last stage of their perfection of this quality. Do not miss this stage.

Special shaping and the special optical coating of lens elements is required to meet the high demands of digital photography, but the only means of preventing off-axis light, in virtually all applications is to use a proper lens hood. Off-axis lighting can cause loss of color, sharpness, contrast and cause those aperture shaped colored spots especially when shooting towards the sun.

In some situations where one is taking extreme close-up macro photography and using flash then a lens hood might not always be practical or required.

Not only does the lens hood enhance the quality of your work it also offers protection for the front element of your lens from scratches and mechanical shock. And also the hood helps to prevent rain, snow or dust from getting onto the front lens element.

BUY IT AND USE IT - IT IS REAL CHEAP INSURANCE FOR YOUR VALUABLE LENS AND THE QUALITY OF YOUR WORK!
