A lens Hood adds an extra bit of protection to your lens, in addition to using a Haze filter. It also helps reduce glare from light coming from the side of the lens, as well as helping keep the glass dry if it's raining outside. It's also handy when your walking through a crowd with your Camera around your neck, and then suddenly somebody backs up into you. Then I like to know I have it!!

I always keep these on all my lenses, except when shooting extremely close subjects. It protects the lens, improves contrast, reduces light flare artifacts and is relatively inexpensive.

Since this lens hood is made by Canon, it fits perfectly on the EFS 60mm macro lens. For a simple lens hood, it's a bit pricey, but it's probably your safest bet. It works great so far.

This one of those things that gets little use. Pros & serious Photogs know the value of a lens hood: Invaluable, especially when shooting into strong side lights. Proper match for the 60mm Canon Macro.
