Comments about LensCoat LensCoat Lens Cover for the Canon 500mm f/4.0 IS Lens - Forest Green Woodland Camo:
I love my LensCoat. Works as advertised. First and foremost it protects my lens from day to day bumps and scratches. Really breaks up the shape of my nice big white lens which helps with my slow, low approach to wildlife. And the thermal protection in both hot and cold temps makes handling the lens a pleasure.
Home run! I also got the matching Hoodie to replace the big bulky Canon lens cover and the LegCoats for my Gitzo tripod.

Comments about LensCoat LensCoat Lens Cover for the Canon 500mm f/4.0 IS Lens - Forest Green Woodland Camo:
Lenscoat is an essential part of my camera gear. Without it, my 500 f/4 lens would have scratches. Contrary to the previous review, the product fits the lens as expected. I can't imagine having any lens without the protection. As a wildlife photographer, the camo really helps in not scaring away my subject. Buy this product with confidence. You won't regret it.

Comments about LensCoat LensCoat Lens Cover for the Canon 500mm f/4.0 IS Lens - Forest Green Woodland Camo:
The front cover allows no access to the AF buttons on the lens, meaning you have to align and cut your own holes. I have nothing good to say about the plastic window over the controls, either. If you're wearing gloves (as we quite often do when "shooting" birds etc), then moving any of the controls becomes nigh on impossible. It's difficult enough without gloves! I've had no end of trouble with the tape that supposedly hides the tripod ring on both this lens and the 300mm f2.8L. It looks appalling when it's "cut to fit", and invariably peels away from either the lens or the adhesive backing (which DOES leave residue, irrespective of what LENSCOAT say!). I was contemplating the "Realtree" option, but am now looking at other alternatives.
