Comments about Nikon Nikon AR-3 1' Threaded Cable Release:
The only reason I bought this was for the lock, to take long exposures in bulb mode on my Mamiya 7. I don't know if there's something wrong with my sample or not, but it's very difficult to unlock. It makes precisely-timed exposures impossible. I paid extra due to the name and reviews, but a cheaper, no-name cable I bought locally works better for what I needed. I give it 2 stars rather than one because it's perfectly adequate if not using the locking capability.

This cable release very durable and a good value for the money. I have had this cable release in the past and have dropped it into a rocky stream. It never rusted, ceased to function, and the cable housing has stood up to the riggors of almost 10 years of constant use with large format equipment (yes, I am still using the first one I ever bought).
