The screw-on eyepiece on my Nikon FM2 Dragon 2000 camera came off by itself while I was on an overseas trip, and was lost. Very fortunately, I could still buy a new replacement for the camera that is no longer in production.

This product fixes a minor annoyance that Nikon should have thought about -- the lack of an eyecup for the D-300. However, when carrying the camera is it easy for this piece to become unscrewed, and therefore lost (along with the eyecup). I bought two, just to be on the safe side.
