Comments about Adorama Adorama 20" Super PRO Cable Release:

Mine broke. You see, it's not about how robust the actual casing where the plunger sits is, it's more about the strength of the cinch at the base which keeps the cord intact and immobile such that the cable inside of the braided cord moves well.

This part broke; my Mamiya is a little picky with the shutter release sometimes; I put a fair amount of pressure on the cable plunger and SPROING! the braided end separate from the metal base and after that, this thing was fit to be trashed.

Like any braided cable release, the connection between the cable and the housing is the weakest point. This one wasn't really any better than others I've used.

Moreover, the housing weighs a LOT. If you want to rest it somewhere during bulb exposures...well it will want to fall quite easily, leading to camera shake.

Comments about Adorama Adorama 20" Super PRO Cable Release:

This is a mechanical cable release, which only fits into some cameras that have a hole in the shutter release button. I bought this for Fujifilm Finepix S9000. Those cameras look a little outdatish now, so if you have a digital SLR, usually you will buy a electronic release or remote control that are specifically built for them.
