The Newswear pouches are a lot better than anything else I have come across due to their simplicity & ease of use. Many pouch systems are over engineered & bulky. While the Newswear pouches won't protect your gear from serious knocks the lightweight padding will protect from the usual daily knocks & scrapes & will compress flat when not in use. I use one of these for my Canon 17-40mm which is a snug fit with the lens hood & I have another for my EOS 1v film body (this will therefore also fit an EOS 5D series camera). My only criticism is that Newswear don't make these more readily available in the UK, which is why I chose to order from Adorama.
