This is a great fit for a D90, with a bit of extra room if you decide to add the battery pack handle to the base. I use this to ski, bike and hike, with a waist belt added to the D-rings at the bottom of the bag. Awesome. Swing it around from the back or side and the camera is very easy and quick to get to. The top can be secured with just the buckle or the zippers for added security.
The pockets hold numerous extras, filters, etc. without adding to the bulk.
