Comments about GGI International GGI International Clear Silicone Case with Screen Protector for the Canon PowerShot SD 990 Elph Camera:

I ordered the GGI International Clear Silicone Case with Screen Protector for my Canon PowerShot SD 990 IS Elph Camera which I got as a gift. I knew I would be with this camera for a long time so I decided to find something to protect the investment.

This review is only for the silicone case and not the LCD screen protector that came with it which I thought was a good bonus. I found the case to be well designed with a custom fit, allowing access to all of the controls and important components (viewfinder, LCD screen, battery compartment). One very minor issue that I have with this camera is access for the zoom dial at the shutter release. The design of the silicone material that surrounds the zoom dial is quite thick making the raised tab on the zoom dial feel like it is sunken in. If the silicone at this site is made thinner, I would have given it 5-stars but that's about the only issue I have with this case.

It still is a nice simple inexpensive protection for the camera against scratches that you might get from abrasions or if you accidentally hit it against something, and keeps the camera clean from dust and oily hands. This product is not intended to protect it from a drop, though. You will need a separate padded camera case for that purpose as what I have done; and because the silicone is not too bulky, you'll still be able to fit the already protected camera into a small padded zippered case.

One other thing about this is the esthetics. It looks very cool to me even though it blankets the camera in a translucent material. I love it.
