This case is perfect for my large Point & Shoot camera, a Canon G9. The belt strap is a double velcro strap which is very strong. The case has excellent padding,and yet the time to remove the camera from the bag a very short - essential for a quick shot. I found it easy to use one-handed, as my other hand is often guiding my kids along.
