Very good protection from light impact or scratching when carrying camera alone without carrying your whole bag. Not intended to protect camera from dropping.

Nice case, but a little tight for a D70. The thin profile does not protect the camera from a major drop, but will prevent scratches and minor bumps. The thin profile allows the case to be carried or stored within a larger case, such as a backpack. Then you have it along when you want to carry the camera only.

THIS CASE FITS THE CAMERA PERFECTLY. I ALSO HAVE THE D200 AND A SIMILAR CASE ON THAT ONE AS WELL. HOWEVER, WHEN YOU REMOVE THE CAMERA SINCE THE CASE DOES NOT HAVE ITS OWN STRAP, YOU ARE AT A LOSS FOR WHAT TO DO WITH IT.
