This is a great camera cover and fits nicely over my 17-55 2.8, even with the lens hood. It comes off easily and hangs in place so you can't lose it. It protects the camera in my computer bag. I own one and have given two as gifts and would recommend to anyone.

Case fits a D300, without battery grip, with 17-55 lens, as hoped. It is about it's limit though. Easy to open. Protects the camera well.

When on vacation or touring a city, I don't want to take all my gear with me while walking around. This allows me to have lightweight protection and easy/fast access for my camera while leaving the less needed things in the room or trunk.

I took this with me to NYC during Christmas and New Years and it was great for walking around the City through the tight crowds. It is nice that it protects the camera while you wear it around your neck while using your regular camera strap.

The only con is that the piece that attaches it to the camera can be a little tight for the lense and will roll off occasionally. But this was rare.

I just spent quite a bit on my spanking new D90 and Tamron 18-270 lens. With a little $$ to spare for bare minimum accessories, this pouch fits very well within my budget and around my camera. The dimensions specified are accurate and all you need to know is your camera's AND lens' size to assess the right fit. With the lens on, there's still bit of room in the front and the case can be attached to the camera body in various ways (though I steered clear of the rubberband around lens contraption).
This pouch is padded decently enough for daily transportation of a camera in my laptop backpack, but not great for shooting in a dusty environment as the snap-on-buttons, though secure than velcro, could get annoying over time.
For long term storage, and as I acquire more lenses, I may invest in a system case.

I like having my camera and zoom lens at the ready for backyard wildlife photos, and find this to be the perfect protector. I'm able to keep the lens hood inverted on the lens while it's in the pouch and there's enough give in the fabric to snap it closed with my eyepiece attached. It fits nicely in my padded travel backpack, protecting my camera and lens from scratches and movement within the bag. In the field it offers protection from the environment.

My Camera is by my side at all times, this case is just the thing to protect my Canon XTI and zoom lense from minor bumps and dust.

It's not your typical well padded camera bag (I have a Kata and a Lowepro bag for that). It's great for transporting your camera around daily. It doesn't add any noticeable extra weight to the camera. It's lightweight, and feels like the kind of material you'd wear to go scuba diving. So it's somewhat padded, but I wouldn't bank on much protection from dropping the camera.
It protects enough so you can feel comefortable transporting the camera and wearing it or using it daily, without worrying about any bumps, bruises or dings happening to your camera/lens. I didn't rate it perfect, because, what is perfect? This comes pretty darn close though. Really, for what it is, it's great and I would buy again. It's lightweight and protects your camera against life's little accidents. I used it while walking around in Disneyland for 12 hours+ daily, and felt comforable going on rides with it. It even rained quite a bit while I was there and I felt fine knowing my camera was encased in this case. I wouldn't drop it in a bucket of water, but it worked fine under the above conditions. I have an awesome Kata case, and a good Lowepro case for long term storage and transporting, but honestly what I use the most is this little case -- and it was a tiny fraction of the Lowepro and Kata bags' costs. People say to improve in photography, you should take plenty of photos and analyze them. I needed something lightweight to carry the camera around for hours a day without having to worry about little accidents. This fit the bill.
