I initially installed this eyepiece to use with the aqua tech camera covers. I now leave it on my D700 body all the time.
The eyepiece installs after the cover is on the camera and it takes steady hands to hold the camera, align the eyepiece through the cover to the eyepiece threads on the camera body and screw it in straight. Easy to do sitting at my desk, a bit tougher in the field, in the rain, in the dark. Also, you end up with the OEM eyepiece without a home if you change to this one only when the cover is on.
