I bought this case to carry my Nikon D-90 with 18-105 and 70-300 lenses, Sealife 1200 with external flash and external video light, a laptop to save my photo files, and power sources for rechargeable batteries. The versatility of the case allows to arrange everything and carry it as a backpack. It may be heavy fully loaded, but the equipment is heavy. All the features it provides help keep my gear safe.

This is one large case which can carry everything. I liked the rain cover which stows away in its own zippered compartment and the overall design and quality are excellent. It has a pullout pocket and straps which can accomodate a large tripod. My 17 inch laptop fits snuggly and the interior compartment can be configured to fit any equipment.

You can strap more gear to this backpack than is reasonable to carry. It can also hold a lot of gear internally.

This case is perfect to store and transport all my gear needed for remote shoots. I carry a 15" MacBookPro, 2 Canon bodies with grips, 24-70, 70-200, 50, 20-35, 3 flashes, rf transmitter/receivers and an array of batteries and filters. The only problem is not so much with the case, but the amount of gear you can carry...enough to make the bag a whopping 40lbs. I'll be taking my first flight with it tomorrow and hope that it doesn't get denied cabin access due to the weight. But all-in-all, you can't go wrong with the versatility and price.

For the price this is an excellent way to store and protect your equipment. Had more room than I expected, it will fix a 17" computer with no problems.

The features of this pack are truely amazing for the cost. I can store my Dell Studio Laptop, Canon Flatbed Scanner, 3 Camera's, Five Lenses and misc ie. memory cards, lense filters and flash. My tripod stores and is secured firmly on the outside with plenty of tiedown point for additional add ons. The rain cover is incorperated into a zipper at the bottom of the bag with storage compartment and permenantly attached. The inner storage for camera equipt can be removed and carried seperately so clothes can be stored in its place for a weekend.

Their is plenty of room, the camera and lense storage area can be seperated from backpack allowing the storage of clothes and such for two days. It also has enough room to store the 15.4 Dell Studio laptop and flatbed scanner of equal size.[...]

I purchased this bag for my upcoming vacations in Alaska and Oregon. Let me start by saying this is a large bag to accomadate a D300 and several pro lenses, computer, tripod and various cords, accessories etc. That being said, there is substantial weight involved.
I am 5'4" and weigh 118 lbs and I find this bag a more than reasonable fit enen with my lack of physical stature. The shoulder harness is comfortable/adjustable. The waist harness and sternum harness fit well and do the job to balance the weight. I've taken it on a 2 mile trek with no problem .
If you are looking for a bag with immediate acces to your equipment, this may not be the bag for you. Since I don't shoot with the bag on, this is not a problem for me. Once open, it is easy to grab what you need.I like the yellow interior to help locate items. Interior padding is good. Very customizable with 2 interior straps to help securely bind the camera/lens. My 15 1/4 " laptop fits securely. Plenty of inside room for do-dads and several outside pockets for quick access items (filters,batteries etc.)
I think the only thing I would've liked to have been included would be a media wallet. My other bag came with this and I found it very convenient. Other than that small item, I am very pleased with the bag.

I am very pleased with the amount of storage space, sturdy construction and padding to help with equipment protection. It is kind of difficult to access equipment on the fly. The Ape case is great for moving and storing my equipment but in the field I like to use a smaller hip pack and choose the lenses etc... I'll need for the day.

I needed a good travel bag that would hold all my gear safely. The Ape Case Pro is perfect. Sturdy and secure. And at a reasonable price to boot. I agree that with a laptop inside the bag becomes a bit heavy and I listed this as a con. But my age is the problem, not the case, it handles the weight just fine...lol. I carry a Canon 50d attached to a 100x400 lens, a 70x200, 17x40, 1.4 TE, all caps, cables, flashlight, extra camera battery and charger along with other misc goodies and still have room! A very nice product, sturdy with plenty of space.

It will hold all of your equipment. I've carried a DSLR, 3 lenses, flash, monopod, tripod, 17" laptop, and several notebooks. Heavy, but well distributed. Much lighter without the laptop. The internal camera bag can be removed to change it to a regular backpack. Lots of pockets and storage for camera and laptop accessories.
