Very well designed and made out of quality, durable materials: wide, comfortable, padded straps; lots of padded compartments and pockets; the waist belt even has its own pockets as do the rain cover and the carrying strap on the top. The pack does need to be taken off to access the contents but that is true of almost all backpacks. I shoot mostly nature and this pack will safely and comfortably handle everthing that I need for a day in a blind or a hike to the top of a mountain.

I got this backpack to carry my camera equipment, because of its low price ([$] only). It has three main pockets, one towards the rear, designed to accomodate a notebook and documents, the middle one, which is for your camera gear and the front one, which is mostly for ... more documents, passport, business cards etc. This backpack can hold two camera bodies with lenses attached and four more lenses with ease. Or you can carry less lenses and add flashes etc. The problem I found after I got it, is that it's kind of shallow to accomodate large, professional SLRs or dSLRs, (or older SLRs with motor drives) like a Nikon F5 or a D700 with the battery pack. If you can remove the battery pack (or motor drive or what have you) and carry it separately in the bag, then everything is fine.It could also have more small storage pockets, to store memory cards, batteries etc separately. The front pocket which could be ideal for such items doesn't have the necessary pockets to carry them. Instead, it looks as if it was designed to carry your passport, business cards and some documents. It does have two pockets, but these are way to big to organize small items. On the other hand its rear pocket can easily accomodate two notebooks (not that I care about that feature, one is enough for me) or other similar equipment. Overall, a good backpack for travel, when you do not need immediate access to all the bits and pieces you need during a shooting session. The lack of small storage pockets means that you will have to carry these "in bulk", inside the large front pocket, which doesn't allow fast access. For just [$] I paid for it, I consider it a good buy.

I love it. Plenty of room for my Nikon D90, D80, 2 Nikon 50mm (1.8& MF 1.4), Nikon 80-200, Nikon 105mm macro, Sigma 18-250mm, Sigma 18-50 F/2.8 EX, Kenko 1.4 Tele Pro 300, Nikon Sb600 Speedlight, Hoodman LCD screen loop, Professor Kobre light scope, Flashpoint Quick Flip Flash Bracket, Extra Camera batterie, Extra Flash batteries, extra memmory cards, cleaning gear, and a Dell 17" laptop. And there is easy access to all of your gear. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that I haven't had it long enough to rate its durability.
