This is a nifty bag that protects my KR. It seems to be really durable but a bit of a lint magnet.

Comments about Domke Domke F-5XB Shoulder/Belt Camera Bag, Canvas, Black.:

This is a great bag for casual photographers and general enthusiasts who don't carry much extra gear. It'll hold a Nikon D3000 (or similar) resting on its side with its kit 18-55mm lens attached, as well as an extra 50mm lens and an SB400 (or similar sized gear), but not much else. It sits comfortably on one's hip or side, but keep in mind that the bag is truly quite small -- for those taller than, say, 5'7 or heavier than, say, 150lb, it might start to look a little ridiculous.

Contents are well-secured by padding on front, back, and bottom, as well as both a single top zipper and velcro'ed top flap. Two included partitions allow for flexible set-up of side padding. The heavy canvas material seems hard-wearing and likely to age well, but will only go so far if one's caught in the rain for an extended period of time. A key pro: it looks less like a camera bag than many others on the market, which may be appealing to some for any number of reasons.

Given its intended purpose, can't think of many cons. The velcro on the top flap is a little on the excessive side, which means it's very secure but noisy. Not a major issue unless silent operation is desired (easiest fix: tape over some or all of the velcro, leaving only what's needed). The combination of velcro'ed flap and zipper is also a bit overkill, although again, not a major flaw unless fast access is essential.

Also, the bag has only two pockets, which given its size wouldn't be a con if the second one were better designed. The first pocket is internal, and is formed by the space between the front padding and the front canvas. It runs the length of the bag, and can be used to stow extra memory cards, filters, etc. The second also runs the length of the bag, and is built into the front of the bag (protected by the flap). Less useful since the top of the pocket can't be closed, which creates a risk that contents may fall out by accident.

All in all, an excellent choice for prosumer-types who want to carry around their compact DSLRs and change for the day in a low-profile, no fuss package.

I bought this as an everyday carry all with an emphasis on camera gear. I use it to carry my Ricoh GRD II, the wide angle converter and viewfinder so I can have a camera on me where ever I go. There is plenty of room for other things such as keys, wallet, ipod, Nintendo DS etc. I find that the bag is very soft and easy to wear.

It will even hold my Nikon D300 with a lens or two. I managed to fit it with the 18-200 VR attached and an SB-800. The D300 is wider than the bag but because the bag is pliable, it fits without a problem.

My only complaint is that the zipper pulls clang together which can make noise but of course that's a minor quible.
