Comments about Kata Kata DT-213 Comprehensive Sling Torso Pack:

I recently upgraded to a DSLR and was told by a friend about the Kata line storage packs. After my initial research, I found this pack to have everything I was looking for to suit my needs. I really like the torso strap (as opposed to the backpack type) which allows the pack to swing from front to back with ease! It's perfect for day tripping!

Comments about Kata Kata DT-213 Comprehensive Sling Torso Pack:

What I saw online and what came out of the box were different. The bag is too cumbersome and bulky for average photoshoots, family trips or indoor work. It is heavy with the gear inside, and not easy to adjust as a shoulder sling bag. I threw away the box, but I would like to send it back, unused. It is not what I expected. I will go back to my traditional camera bag.

Comments about Kata Kata DT-213 Comprehensive Sling Torso Pack:

This is a great bag for outdoor pursuits like hiking. I was looking for a bag that would accommodate my Canon 5D Mark II (no battery grip) and a couple of lenses but would not be too cumbersome. This bag ended up being a great choice. It doesn't get snagged on branches or weigh you down when you are on the move. It is a little awkward to get fitted and adjusted but once you get used to it, the bag works very well. Of course, it has pretty limited storage space (a slot of a water bottle would be nice) and the cell phone slot seems to be oddly configured. This is not an everyday bag because you can only carry a little bit of gear but it is ideal for certain activities. But, if you know what you are getting into then you will likely be very happy with this bag. I have not had to use the rain cover but it seems like a nice addition. All in all, a well engineered and built bag. Adorama recently put it on sale and this made the bag that much more attractive.

Comments about Kata Kata DT-213 Comprehensive Sling Torso Pack:

Whether a bag suits you is a matter of taste and the equipment you have. I use this bag to carry a Nikon D90 w/16-85mm zoom and a Nikon D40 with Sigma 10-20mm when I go hiking. It can accomodate both cameras one in top grip, the other inverted. I find it is more comfortable to wear that a Lowepro sling bag because the waist strap takes some of the weight off your shoulder. The bag is well made with quality materials and good attention to detail. This is the best sling bag I have found to date.

Comments about Kata Kata DT-213 Comprehensive Sling Torso Pack:

It´s a great bag for My Nikon D90 plus 18-105 kit lens (fits with hood), 50mm f1.8, Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 and Nikon SB-600 flash, the only reason that I gave 4 stars: not enough pockets; I´d really like more pockets for storage personal items.

It have an extra pocket but zipper opens very tight, when an extra battery (EN-EL9) is inside in place, you can´t access to the rest of the pocket.

I´m 5´8" tall and skiny but the bag distributes wheight very well.

Comments about Kata Kata DT-213 Comprehensive Sling Torso Pack:

I'm a fan of Kata bags, their construction quality is great and they really do stand behind their products. This bag is the perfect size for me, allows me to carry my T2i with 70-300 attached, as well as the 18-55, a 60mm macro, 85mm f1.8, flash, filters, etc.

It just doesn't quite fit me perfectly, although it fits me better than a couple of equivalent bags I've tried.

Excellent, really, just a hair below 5-star though.

Not quite big enough

Cons:
Not Enough Pocket Room, Too Small

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Kata Kata DT-213 Comprehensive Sling Torso Pack:

The bag worked adequately for a D700 with addon battery pack and a 24-70 f2.8 lens. Also, I could carry a 70-200 lens with the camera listed above with the 24-70 lens attached. The problem was when you tried to carry the camera with the 70-200 lens attached, there just wasn't enough room.

Switched to a Think Tank Disguise 35 bag to do the job. Also, added the optional backpack straps to the Disguise 35 bag. Much better fit for me.

Best Small Sling to Fit 70-300
By cameranukeVerified Reviewer from Hartford, CT on 8/16/2009
Pros:
Compact, Durable
Cons:
Not Enough Pocket Room
Best Uses:
Daily Transport
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Kata Kata DT-213 Comprehensive Sling Torso Pack:

This is a great camera bag. I can fit a Nikon D-60 w/18-105 lens plus extended lens hood in top grip position plus a Nikon 70-300/VR in the side --or-- the Nikon D-60 w/Nikon 70-300/VR in top grip position with the 18-105m on the side. There is also enough room for a 2 filters, battery, cards, and quick release tripod mount.

This was one of the smaller sling bags I can find that could actually hold my camera with the attached 70-300m in top grip.

The only negative is that this does not have enough pockets. I would say it is more 4 1/2 stars.

Comments about Kata Kata DT-213 Comprehensive Sling Torso Pack:

Despite the desctiption, it's way too tight to use with with a D-700 alone, much less with a vertical grip added.

It does work well with a D-80, without grip, and will handle a 70-200mm mounted on it. But without the added grip, it doesn;t do me much good.

It's a goo vag, as expecetd from Kata, just didnt wor for me as well as a Lowepro sling bag, or the Tenba.
