Comments about Pelican Pelican PCS172 Soft Nylon Rolling Camera Case for 2 SLR Camera System & Notebook:

I have owned this bag about 2 weeks so my review could be different after using more.Simply speaking so far so good.I have bought a backpack but it was not good for bringing camera gears every day with me in terms of fashion and weight.To solve the fashion problem, I have bought shoulder bag but it was too heavy with my camera gears.I started looking for rolling bag for daily life which solves the both problems; fashionable and pains with heavy gears.Most rolling bags are too big.I did not want to bring big bag everyday.I found some small rolling bag but they were too expensive....At last I found PCS172 and it was affordable and looks good and small enough.But it was very hard to find any further information about this bag only one or three pictures so I was not sure to buy....But I decided making order with thinking returning if it is not good.I received and it was all black and it was different with the picture on Adorama. The picture on Adorama has grey colors in front but actual one is full black. Actually I like full black than the partly grey one. Full black one looks more elegant and expensive. :)I surprised the quality of the product even with the price and "made in China". I have a bad perception with made in china products but this one has good quality so far and I think Pelican is auditing the quality strictly.The good thing is this bag gives me another small bag for notebook and both bags have strap behind to be piggy bagged on other big rolling bag handle. This is really comfortable feature for travel. Typically you do not travel only with camera bag. In most cases, we travel with big rolling bag with clothes and other stuff plus camera bag. In this case, this bag can be piggy baged on the big rolling bag. It is very convenient. The small notebook bag also has the feature and if you filled the notebook space of the PCS172 with some other stuff then you can bring the notebook bag with piggy bagging on PCS172. What a convenient feature it is!But I have several concern with these bags. Typically the weels and metal handle of rolling bags from china break easily. So I need to keep wathing it is the same case with PCS172 and I have not had sufficient time to make sure this problem is OK with PCS172.One minor problem with this bag is if you do not put anying heavy in the notebook space of PCS172, then this bag falls down to front. i.e. the camera gears are heavy so the weight center becomes front without any notebook PC or other heavy one and the front foot of this bag is not placed to stand firmed in this situation.When you do not bring notebook PC, I recommend putting some heavy one in the notebook slot not to see your bag keep falling front with your valuable camera gears inside.Anyway, I am very happy with this bag so far. If I would not experience any serious problem with wheel and handle, I will strongly recommend this bag to everyone but I still need time to remove these my concerns. I hope PCS172 would change my perception of made in china products....
