The muzzle is pretty easy to use, bit needs to be filled so the camera doesnt move too much. It only reduces 50% of the noise so in total silence the camera click will be noticed. Still so much better than nothing. I use it to photograph chamber music concerts.

When I get an assignment from a department head to shoot an event and then during the event, I get shushed by the president, I'm in kind of a jam. This product, while pretty awkward to use, does what it's supposed to and quiets the camera quite a bit. It seems to remove the harshness from the shutter sound. You still have it, but it's a little less loud and a lot less harsh. The lens cover is really a pain, though, and it doesn't seem to do much, so I just leave it off.
It's probably best to use it in dark theatre settings because otherwise, people stop you to ask, "What the heck is that thing?" And, oh yeah, your hand gets pretty sweaty, too.

While it does muffle the sound somewhat - especially the higher frequencies, the camera (a D700 - admittedly a pretty loud body) remains plenty audible. May be quiet enough for a large lecture hall. If you require silent operation, you'll want the blimp.

This does cut down on the mirror slap - but only about 50%. A lot of the noise that does still exists comes from the lens opening. There is a lens hood part, but that is only for long lenses. It would be nice of they made a smaller cover for shorter lenses. This is better than nothing, and is a good start. I think if you add some of your own insulation that you could probably cut noise even more. Also, depending on the camera you use, the foam block they provide may not be enough to position the camera correctly, so you may need to add some of you own padding.
