Comments about Leupold Leupold X-treme Binocular Carry Strap:
The Leupold harness was purchased from Adorama because it is one of the few companies that handle this excellent item. Having surveyed virtually all of the various harnesses (which are all very similar in their concept) on the market, the Leupold has the edge in the means by which the binoculars/camera are attached to the harness. Rather than split rings, snap hooks and/or small loops of varying materials, the Leupold uses two-piece quick-release nylon snap connectors that are very secure. The first piece of the connector is easily attached by threading a woven nylon loop (sewn to the connector with leather) through each binocular/camera strap post, preventing any damage or excessive pressure on the post. The second piece slides easily along the harness strap.
Unlike some I've tried, the harness adjusts easily to fit most individuals (the binoculars/camera may hang low on shorter persons; to bring the binoculars or camera to a higher position, the attachment loops can be shortened by putting a knot in each of the attachment loops)and also allows the slider buckles to be positioned so that they don't interfere with bringing up the binoculars/camera for viewing or when carrying a pack with shoulder straps.
Note that the harness is made of a heavy-duty elastic material, which turned out to be relatively comfortable and capable of easily handling medium to large-size binoculars or cameras. The material is quite stiff with little flex, which is good. A bit of elasticity also seems to help steady the binoculars/camera. For long periods in the field, the harness does indeed take much of the pressure off the neck and transfers it onto the shoulders. Though black would have been preferred, the strap only appears to come in a dark brown color, which is not uncommon with Leupold products.
