There aren't very many compact cameras that easily allow you to hang them from your neck horizontally, ready for the next shot while keeping both hands free. I have a 3 year old. He is unpredictable as a photographic subject, but I also need to be ready to grab him if he runs too far! Besides that, I love to have my GX100 out and ready without having to fish it out of a case or pouch when I see something. The strap attaches easily, without danger of loosening as long as you follow the simple instructions, and is fully adjustable. There is no padding beyond a leather-like strip stitched to the inside underneath the "GR Digital" embroidery but the GR Digital and GX100 are featherweight so it isn't an issue. The thinness allows me to easily wrap it around the camera a few times when I'm done with pictures and just shove it into my pack. I bought one for my first GX100 and liked it so much I bought a second one when I ordered my backup GX100.
