Comments about HyperDrive Sanho HyperDrive HD80, 80 GB Memory Card Backup Storage Device with 24 Bit Copy Verification:

The Hyper Drive sucks up batteries like nobody's business and is really not easy to use. I can no longer get mine to mount on the desktop of my laptop and reformatting it is something of an ordeal. I know people who swear by them but my experience has been less than great.

Comments about HyperDrive Sanho HyperDrive HD80, 80 GB Memory Card Backup Storage Device with 24 Bit Copy Verification:

It does what it claims to and does it well. Off loading at home was quite easy despite Canon utilities being not very flexible.

For important shoots, carry two. I'm always nervous having only one copy of my data.

The only very minor downside is that errors are displayed as numbers. It is sometimes hard to interpret. The only error I got was Battery Low error, which I just figured out by plugging it in and having everything work just fine.

Carry the manual and reading glasses (for those with older eyes ;-)!

I guess one other downside is the behaviour of the verification. I'm not sure what the best answer here is. I never used the verification because it just stops if a file fails verification. I want the data copied no matter what. I had a flaky memory card (which is now in for repair/replacement) so failing to copy some data was not an option.
