Comments about Jobo Jobo Giga Vu Pro Evolution 80 GB Multimedia Photo Storage System and Viewer for Professionals:
This item was purchased because of large LCD and high resolution. This it provides! (Purchase an LCD protecter.) The manufacturer does not guarantee that this instrument will operate with latest Canon digital cameras, e.g., the D 40 and the G 9. Note that there is no voice recorder for those who like to attach quick audio notes to images. Am unhappy with the hard-to-understand user's guide, which provides little help for basic setup and beginning operation Don't expect the manual to be a teaching guide! While the manufacturer responds politely to emails and phone calls,'help' was not always helpful.
Unless one is a professional "techie" with a lot of patient intuition, using this item will be an exercise in handling the 'screaming memeies'. Advice: Sacrifice the good color and high resolution LCD of the Jobo, and look elsewhere. Buyers should make sure to understand return arrangements, prior to purchase, just in case this expensive item is not what is expected. (I believe it is overpriced.)

Comments about Jobo Jobo Giga Vu Pro Evolution 80 GB Multimedia Photo Storage System and Viewer for Professionals:
Despite its unweildy name, this device lived up to my expectations and delivered safe backups of 15,000 images on a recent once-in-a-lifetime trip to South America and Antarctica. Once cached images are made, review and editing is fast and image quality is excellent. However, when storing about 1000 images per day, I soon learned that same-day review of the images was impractical: it takes so long to generate viewable cached images after copying them from the flash cards that I learned it was more efficient to have it generate the images unattended overnight and review them in the morning.
