Comments about Kingston Technology Kingston Technology 8 GB Class 6 Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) Ultimate Memory Card, 133x Write:

After an onsite visit to Kingston Technology, where they did additional testing, the conclusion is that their Ultimate 133x SDHC, when used in a Canon T2i DSLR will take 72+ seconds to do a low-level format. Other manufacturers' Class 6 SDHC cards typically take 3 seconds to do the same thing in the same T2i. All other aspects of data transfer and recording (including video) showed no signs of any speed issue. These cards were also tested in another T2i body with the same results. It is an annoyance rather than a serious failure. It also seems to format quickly in other cameras but they may not be doing the low-level format. Non-low-level formatting runs at a reasonable speed in the T2i. Kingston is gladly refunding me the price of the memory. Thanks goes to their expert technical assistance.

Comments about Kingston Technology Kingston Technology 8 GB Class 6 Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) Ultimate Memory Card, 133x Write:

I was thinking whether to buy Kingston or Sandisk. at last I choose this product thinking that it has a writing speed of 133x that would be equal to 20mb/sec or maybe 15mb/sec and it was on SALE!!

Well I was wrong after I received the product. I tested the product using crystal disk and the maximum write speed is only 11mb/sec. This should be categorized as class 2 and not class 6.

If you think this is gona worth your money, I dont think so but is up to you people out there if you think it is worth it. 30% sales = 50% off, the actual product efficiency claimed to be. Gee... thanks Kingston for the great deal.

I have always been using Kingston's products but after this I feel that this company is turning away from quality and going quantity instead. I guess this will be the last product I get from Kingston.

I now own two of these and really enjoy having the 8GB of space for photos. The speed is great and the product has been reliable for thousands of pictures. I have never had a problem with these. I was unsure about buying Kingston because I had always previously purchased Lexar and Sandisk. I am glad I did though as these are a much better value and equally reliable in my experience.
