I bought this at [...] for [$]. I wanted to make digital copies of my old negatives to make slideshows. Disappointed with the poor quality of the images.

Comments about Pacific Image Pacific Image Memor-ease, 35mm Film Scanner with 1800dpi, USB 2.0 Interface:

Best use is for converting slides to "snapshots". (I've not used it for negatives.)It is fast and easy to use, but lacks image quality. It would be much better if it allowed for a little slower process with better image quality.

It is a basic way for me to record my Black and White 35mm negs as a back up, to also give an alternate option of printing and allows me to get a closer look at the neg so I can make better choices before making the effort to print in the traditional dark room using chemicals which I still prefer when it comes to Black and White fine art photography.

Comments about Pacific Image Pacific Image Memor-ease, 35mm Film Scanner with 1800dpi, USB 2.0 Interface:

I'm finding that there are too many steps to create one scanned 35mm slide into a folder on my computer. Could it be just me? The photoshop elements that came with, does not work on my computer..so I'm left with using very basic software to get the job done.
My real concern though is the quality of the scan. If it's possible to get better resolution than what I'm getting, I haven't found it. True, I'm not the brightest bulb with software, but this just seems like too many steps to get a workflow going and the end result is disappointing.
