Working on my second Photo bank.First one quit working after about the 3rd use right after returning from a week vacation. Replaced under warranty.
Just returned from vacation again half way thru downloading to computer appr. 3gb of photos and screen went dark, won't turn back on. $2000.00 vacation and I just lost half or better of my photos. These things are JUNK!!!Darrell

drive goes buggy, then you reformat and it won;t work with a mac any longer... no new software available... except for .exe junk which is no good to mac owner....

hey you idiots!!! photographers use macs... get with the program!

I ordered one of these - it didn't work, sent it back for replacement and the second one did not work either - poor quality control and manufacturing. These are junk. I am getting refund. They aren't worth the air they spin.

Reads my 1gig card fine but it will not read my 4 gig card. tried to use it to move 300 meg of data from my PC to my iMac and failed. I could not get the file off the unit to the iMac.

Functionally, this works great - pop in a card, hit a button and the data transfers to the hard drive. I found the transfer rate to be very slow, but that was acceptable. I also found that I could completely kill a charged battery over the course of one wedding. The product's quality and integrity, however, is its fatal flaw. I had two die in pretty soon after I got them. They were replaced promptly enough under warranty. The third lasted several months, but now has also died (the hard drive still works, but it won't transfer card data). It is now out of warranty. While I was just using the machine for backup, if you depend on it for storage of your one and only copy of your photos, stay away. You do not want to load it up with your vacation photos only to have all the data lost before you can get it on your computer.

I have had this photobank for about 6 years. I have had no troubles with it and love it. I have all my photos in individual folders that I organize on my laptop. I take it with me everywhere and download events for printing later. I have given it as a gift to all my family members.

Have a 40gb version that developed I/O errors when trying to read data off the device and onto my pc. Decided to try again with an 80gb version and it reads part of the data and then also comes back with an I/O error message and stops transferring data. Pretty useless device if you can't get the data off of it. Should be taken off the market or its problems fixed.

Had one for 3 weeks. Even got through a wedding with it. Plugged it in to charge yesterday and 10 minutes later smoke was coming out of it. Now what if i had not been home. Great product except for the burning your house down part.
