When it comes to a must have on your camera, this is the first one that I look for. The last thing you want to do is accidently scratch the back of the unit with a zipper on your jacket and have the scratch to look through every time you shoot. I put these on all my boxes. I don't like the pop up shade that it comes with so I remove both the sides and the top that comes out and just have the protective cover on it. I know you can buy one of these by themselves but this one is much better in my opinion and seems to stand up well to use. I have one of these on another camera, a Canon Rebel that I run full marathons with and it helps keep my sweat out of the way for the 6 ½ hours of shooting. I take over 2000 photos of the event and all the runners while running the event myself. It also covers some of the buttons on the back to protect them as well.

I put this on all my SLRs that go outside of the studio including my Rebel and my 5D. Nothing worse than finding you have a zipper rubbing against your camera for an hour while going on a shoot or that is was in a bag with a loose battery against it and now your back is scratched!
