Comments about Nikon Nikon D70s Digital SLR Camera, 2 Lens Kit with 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G ED IF AF-S DX & 55-200mm f/...:
I have been shooting Canon for some time, and when I went in to get the next big Canon I found out my lenes don't work with the new Canons, but the Lenes I have had for years from Nikon will work with any Nikon on the market. So I moved to Nikon.
This is one great camera. I truley do love it. It has everything from the simple settings to just get you taking pictures to the manual settings PROs need to take great photographs. The controls are simple.
The manual/instructions are better than any book you could by for it. It is one detailed manaul. I carry it with me when I need to review or try something new. Most cameras have a book at the book store that you will need to go pick up to get more detail but in this case all you need is the one that came with it.
I love CF cards. They are heavy duty and I like the size. It writes fast in RAW and even faster in JPEG. I don't use JPG that much as I do most of my shooting in RAW.
The lenes with this kit are great in that they give you a really wide range of shooting. My go to lens is the 18-70. It just works for tons of shots. The other lens is super to for working at a distance and getting in tight.
Nikon does need to come out with a full sized senor. I think this is killing them with the PROs. Canon has the full sensor and that alone is a deal killer. I would love to have seen the D70s with a full isze sensor and that is my only real beef with this camera.
Make sure if you are moving from film to digital you spend the money on a good sensor cleaning brush. You will thank me later.
