I bought this item to help me fine focus on the ground glass of my view camera and it does the job quite well. I also use it to read my 35mm negatives. It's small enough that I can carry it around in my pocket, yet so inexpensive that I won't freak out if I broke or lost it.

I have had this product for roughly two years, and it is still working just fine.
It is a little easy to scratch the lense, because it is mostly contructed of plastic, but if you are careful with it you shouldn't have any problems.
