Well built. It will come very useful with my flash unit or led lamp for my camcorder. I really like the feel of it.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Heavy Duty L-bracket with 2 Standard Flash Shoe Mounts:

Works fine. Strong, lightweight, nice handle grip. My only minor complaint is that I wish it extended longer from the 1/4/20 screw to the "L" portion. My camcorder - a Canon HF-R100 - has a digital screen for a viewfinder. You can't open the screen all the way with the bracket set in a normal, 90-degrees-from-the-camera position. So I had to buy another straight bracket to account for that. And no one else has a longer bracket either, and many camcorders these days have larger screens that won't work with this either. But that's the only real issue - otherwise, I'd realistically give it 4.5 stars.

In addition to other complaints, when bracket is on the left side of the camera, leaving the right hand for the shutter and other controls, the flash faces backwards.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Heavy Duty L-bracket with 2 Standard Flash Shoe Mounts:

Only wanted bracket for the flash shoes. Wasn't what was picture. I even ordered one for a sample before purchase. Didn't like the new shoes, it was to tight for the flashes also. Picture needs to be changed to reflect change in product.

Bracket swings/moves on the camera. It needs another pin or mount point to keep it from moving.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Heavy Duty L-bracket with 2 Standard Flash Shoe Mounts:

I have a Canon HF S100 and S200. Since Canon has the annoying proprietary shoe I needed something to attach a microphone to, and potentially a video light. Adorama makes a shoe converter which works pretty well but it's too expensive, and it only holds one attachment. Since this is cheaper and holds two I decided to try it out. Like other people said. you cant 't open the screen all the way so I mounted this on the right side of the camera. It was mostly on a tripod so it was okay, and occasionally when I removed it from the tripod I would just hold it by the grip of the mount, which was okay. It is true though, as another reviewer pointed out, that the mount doesn't really stay in the same place, so if you're not paying attention the mount might go crooked. It seems like a simple piece of foam may have helped create some more friction to keep it in place better.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Heavy Duty L-bracket with 2 Standard Flash Shoe Mounts:

I bought this mainly for use as my macro rig. Used Adorama's shoe mount ball head for the flash.

This bracket serves its purpose well. The grip could be better though (made my own padded cover).

If you don't want the camera to turn on the bracket, use an anti-twist plate.... pretty simple.

Comments about Adorama Adorama Heavy Duty L-bracket with 2 Standard Flash Shoe Mounts:

The 6 tiny screws that hold the shoe mounts in place are not set flush, so shoes will not fit into the mounts. Also, the bottom screw that goes into the camera's tripod mount does not affix the handle in place; the handle rotates. I'm surprised that Adorama is selling a product this bad. And I didn't get full credit for returning it.

Ridiculously bad
By Mr Hartoonian from NYC on 8/17/2010
Cons:
Bad construction, Bad design
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Adorama Adorama Heavy Duty L-bracket with 2 Standard Flash Shoe Mounts:

when attached to camera (20D, 40D), it swings around as though it's not screwed in completely - though it is. This makes it basically useless. Also, one of the screws attaching the top shoe to the bracket is not threaded all the way, making the shoe unusuable (cant fit any flash or other accesory into it). Doesnt anybody try this stuff out before selling it to us?
