Ordered this set of light stands and on both the plastic rings around the center posts were completely broken off. The plastic looked cheap.

These stands are great for portraits. They are easy to setup and adjust.

Just got the stands today [...] I put an Integra 500 on each and even a medium size softbox on one of them. The stands are holding just fine. They may look slim but sturdy enough for my Integra 500s. It is even better built than the 13' Giottos that I bought a week ago from someone.[...] I've been Adorama's faithful customer. Did try to save some money buying stuff somewhere else but in the end always came back to Adorama for genuine products at competetive prices and most of all, peace of mind. Quocphuc Le

These are good if you mount a flash but for anything bigger you need something sturdier. I mounted an Alien Bees monolight and even without a light modifier this thing swings like a fishing rod. The footprint also suggests mounting only the lightest accessories.

These are amazing stands !
Very light and at the same time sturdy.
The air cushion adds safety and usually can be found only in much higher priced stands. Highly recommend !

This is a great price for this kit. I was going to spend much more on another kit, and I am glad that I did not. If you are just getting started on your home studio, you can't go wrong with these stands. Right now I use it for two SB-800's, but I would not hesitate to use them with heavier gear.

There may be fancier light stands and you can pay a lot more if you want to, but these are more than adequate for the purpose: light weight but sturdy, good design, good materials, nicely finished, all at a very attractive price. I have no complaint and plan to buy more.
