I'm 86 and an "ex Pro". This product has very limited use but it is inexpensive and easy to carry and set up. I have used it to photograph household items for inventory and insurance records. When photographing very small objects I supplement lighting with a small, hand held, flash light. Results are acceptable and easy on the back.

The product works as advertised. Would have enjoyed it better if the catalog that was enclosed didn't advertise the product at a reduced rate. Having the savings up front, instead of only wishing it would have been. Feel free to credit my account for the difference :0)

I photograph many small items, this product is easy to set up and easy to use. My only complaint is that the fabric backdrop gets wrinkled when stored. Even with the wrinkling issue, it's still a great product.

We intend to use if for smaller items that we are selling. Took a far better picture of a ring using the Deshadow box than before.

Got it during discount for a good price. The lamp should not be turn on too long so have to make the shots quick else they will probably burn or melt. The background has to be folded for storage so it caused a fold line to develop so I have to un-velcro and roll up for storage.

Good product for light use.

This is a product that can help individuals wanting to photo small objects for things like eBay. It is great for what it is intended. It's a little small and probably not something a professional would want, but for an amateur it's perfect, works well, and is a great value for the price.

The two low wattage lights offer a surprising amount of 'fill' for tight close-ups (think Ebay photos, flowers, etc.)

Having a light over top of box is an enhancement to the photo quality. The overall set up is good. I like the portability of the product.

I find this useful for shooting smaller items. Real close-ups can be difficult because the top of the box gets in the way. The lights get too hot. I could not adjust the heads with bare hands. The light stands, while cleverly designed are not heavy enough at the base. They tip easily even with just the weight of the power cord. One did topple and the bulb broke. I have yet to find anyone who stocks these 2800k MR 16 110 volt bulbs. Most MR16's are 12 volts and run with a transformer. And yes, I have one melted light head due to the high heat. House stunk of melted plastic during use.

I use the De-Shadow Box to take product and close up pictures. My initial reason for buying it was that my daughter had a project where she needed pictures of about 30 items (toothpaste tube, socks, etc.). The pictures taken with the box were of professional quality.

It sets up in seconds and goes anywhere.

The lights were broken when the package arrived, but were quickly replaced.

Not for production use. However, I find it very usefull for occassional shots of small items. I plug the lights into a power strip that has an on /off switch and use it to extend the life of the bulbs.

The de-shadow box itself is fine for the size items I photo but the halogen lights are poor (I no longer use them) and get quite hot.

I started to use the set up indoors for taking close-up and macro pictures. The small studio itself is very useful BUT the lights can not be left on for more than several minutes before they overheat and the internal parts start to melt. Now both on off switches do not work.

I would not recommend this to anyone who would like to leave the lights on more than 4 minutes.

I purchased this as a tool for my photography work but in my opinion it should be recalled as a possible fire hazard.
