Comments about Avenger Avenger Heavy Duty 12' High Wind-Up Geared Lightstand with Braked Hard Wheels, Chrome Steel Base.:
I am a professional, full time fashion photographer and I recently purchased this roller to assist my hanging overhead lighting setups. I usually have used a heavy c-stand sitting on makeshift wheels to mount my overhead hanging lights but my crew had a hard time lifting the sections of the c-stand once the large soft box and head were fixed to it. This roller has a very easy to use rank system allowing me to raise a full 7 foot soft box and head well over 11 feet in the air. Even my smallest crew member can easily get my lighting into the air. Also, there was always a problem with changing the c-stand height and allowing a section to drop quickly when unlocking a particular section of the stand, sendning the softbox flying downward toward my clients head. This roller must be cranked in order to lower the overall height which eliminates the fear of it coming down too quickly or dropping down all together. Its a very large rolling stand and its actually much larger than it appears in the photo which was an added bonus. This is a top notch studio roller and has all the bells and whistles you could want. Its beyond sturdy and is all heavy stainless and aluminum components. This is one serious light stand that will probably last me forever. If you need to hang lights fairly high and want something easy to use, safe and of the very best quality, than this is it. [...] This is simply a killer product for professionals. I would not recommend this to a hobbyist or someone without a good amount of studio space. The footprint on this, once the wheels are on and the satnd is fully spread is nearly 50". Toy for pros. Enjoy
