Comments about Bogen Imaging Bogen - Manfrotto Mini Repro Copy Stand with 4-Light Assembly:
I just got finished taking a few pictures with the stand. I bought the version with the light kit (note - the base model does not include the light kit). Right out of the box there are no assembly instructions. Not that it is too hard to assemble, but it would be nice to know how a few things go together like the camera mount. It didn't appear to go together correctly but worked fine. There is a screw-like piece that I assumed was supposed to plug the entry hole for the camera mount but when tightened down, it inhibits the mount from working properly so you need to leave it loose. It is also hard to crank down the camera so that it does not move. (you can't get a grip on the tightening wheel because it is very close to the mounting arm)
The crank mechanism for the stand is ok, not very smooth but works and allows full height adjustment of the trolly. The first pictures were pretty good, the stand is steady but far lighter than most stands. This is a compact stand and will fit just about anywhere. Perfect for coins or small items.
The light kit allows for high wattage bulbs but there aren't any switches on the lights so you need to put them into a switched plug or else a surge suppressor/outlet extender. There also is no electric control center so you need 4 plug outlets. I just used an old surge supressor and that works fine. The lights are not adjustable for height but just swivel around the metal bar.
Three stars due to lack of instructions, no switches on the lights and an overly complex camera mount. Overall a good value for the money considering the price of other stands. No regrets.
