I use this product to hold My soft box on top of the items to be shot, attached to an horizontal pole. It works perfect, just have to be sure the pole is sturdy enough to carry the soft box's weight.

This is a professional piece of photography gear and very useful. While you can get a cheaper one that will still function, it's a question of hassle. The stud and triangular insert both stay in easily on this one - which I can't say for some others. Also, it doesn't smell like paint. we clamp it to a window sill,
attached to a tripod
clamp it to your light or background stand
can even be used on wood and any type of material
I can't believe I didn't know about this clamp.
now I don't leave home without it.

Great for putting strobes and flashes of all sizes where you need them. Add a Stroboframe Bracket Shoe Mount (SB300SHO) to mount speedlights.

This product is really easy to use, a bit expensive but worth it. It is really sturdy so you can use it to mount almost everything including camera's and light heads. I found it extremely useful for small strobes.

When I dont want to haul a tripod or need a second holder, it works at a fraction of the weight and slips nicely in a bag or vest. Can conceal lights for some unusual photos.

They permitted us to mount 4 studio strobes, with reflecting umbrellas, from gas pipes almost 20 feet above a ballroom dance floor.
