This arm is really magical. Being able to loosen all the pivot points at once and then lock the arm into a position with a single action is awesome. Two points to consider. The push lever takes some pressure to engage/disengage and takes some getting used to. It does provide a very sturdy and secure feel though when engaging the level in the locked position. Consider using the variable friction magic arm with twist knob as an alternative. Also, pay attention to the tension of the arm segment bolts. The kit includes two allen wrenches. If the arms are too loose, disengaging the level makes the arm segments drop down quickly, potentially harming equipment. Make sure the tension is tight but still flexible. This tension setting levels varies out of the box as I've noted by testing three units.

Hold camera very well. The tripod needs to be weighted it camera is to far out. Recommend using remote shutter release for SLR/DSLR's. Allows camera to be placed right in the middle of the action during Macro/closeup photography.
