Comments about Bogen Imaging Bogen - Manfrotto Magic Arm Flash Shoe:

We'll see if the contract manufacturer that Manfrotto uses is making these to a higher standard that before they were yanked from the lineup. I have a fist full of these that all suffered the same fate - the threaded shaft is a press fit into the plastic top, and eventually they pull apart. A session with a bit of JB Weld fixes them, but why repair a part that could be better with a bit of thought. I'll probably add a few more as they're versatile, but will also carefully monitor them.

Comments about Bogen Imaging Bogen - Manfrotto Magic Arm Flash Shoe:

If you need a cold-shoe to mount your off camera strobe, this is a nice one to buy. Don't skimp and buy a cheap one that's loose and unsecure. I use this for both my Nikon SB-800 & my Vivitar 285HV. It works great. It's a tad on the tight side, but trust me, it's better than being to loose and wobbling all over wondering when your $300+ flash is gonna fall off your stand.

I bought one already and will buy more for all my stands from now on.

Comments about Bogen Imaging Bogen - Manfrotto Magic Arm Flash Shoe:

I used two of these with an El Doble double flash umbrella bracket. The installation was simple and they look very professional. I like the firm grip these give when attaching my Nikon SB-800 Speedlights. Since there is no metal on the mount, there is no worry about shorting out contacts on your flash. Another quality Bogen product.

Comments about Bogen Imaging Bogen - Manfrotto Magic Arm Flash Shoe:

This item attaches via 1/4" male thread to other equipment.
I use this Flash Shoe in combination with an adapter (Bogen #3108) to mount a flash gun (strobe) to a Justin Clamp (Bogen #175) or a Super Clamp (Bogen #035) or an Umbrella Swivel "Lite-Tite" (Bogen #2905)
The non-conductive, high-impact plastic material of the shoe eliminates concerns regarding electric current running through the hot shoe connection of the flash.
A great
